A Dinosaur Birthday

For my son’s fourth birthday back in April, we decided to throw him a dinosaur-themed party since dinosaurs are one of his most favorite things. We invited a handful of his “closest” (e.g. “people my height that I see most often”) friends and set up three mini stations: bubbles and chalk, paint-your-own-dinosaur, and miniature dinosaur sandbox dig. The party was a hit, not to mention that it only cost us $30!

Using a free image from inmagine.com, I created digital invitations and emailed them to our guests.

Digging for Dinosaurs

Clockwise from top: Party blowers - a special request by the birthday boy; Painting her very own triceratops; Digging for dinos!; Simple home-made dinosaur cake.

Party favors (play-doh, crayons, light sticks, party blowers, and gro dinos) along with their “purpose statements” inside:

Play-doh: “…we are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.” - Isaiah 64:8
Crayons: Every color of the rainbow! To remind us that God always keeps His promises!
Ligh stick (snap to activiate): “…let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” - Matthew 5:16
Party blower: “let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.” - Psalm 95:1
Gro Dinos: Put us in water and watch us grow! Likewise, remember to immerse yourself in God’s word, and you’ll be like a “tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.” - Psalm1:3
I know, a bit advanced for four-year-olds, but hopefully a good reminder for the parents!
