When I need a few minutes (or more) to concentrate on something, I can always rely on supplying mazes for Calvin to figure out and a notebook and pen for "writing" (who-knows-what) for Charissa. Now that the weather here is actually summer-like, I've been using the baby pool to keep them occupied and happy. Our deck setup works out great because I can work adjacently (inside the house with AC) at the kitchen table and still keep an eye on the kiddies.
After my two-minute check-up at the OB's office this morning, the kids went out for a "nature bath" and I got to work on my sewing notebook (where I note and draw "tutorials" of the things I've made for my own reference) and a skirt of my own pattern using fabric remnants from past projects. I also got to use my rotary cutter and mat for the first time! All I can say is, the right tools make the job sooo much easier and pleasant. And the ability to physically re-create what you've designed and imagined in your head gives such a power rush :) Can we say surge of endorphins?
Unlike The Market Skirt, my version is lined and not as "ruffly". I think I'm going to name it "The Uptown Skirt" :) I will post up my notes on the skirt (later) in case anyone is interested.
